Join us for the annual North Down Heat of the Poetry Slam.
This dynamic, competitive event pits poet against poet.
They are working against the clock and their peers, to showcase their original work.
Poets register at the start of the night, will be chosen at random and have three minutes to perform. Three judges will score the work and choose who goes through to the next round.
Winners will go through to the Ulster Final of the Poetry Slam on Saturday 28 September in Studio 1A, Bangor.

Rules of the Slam:
Participants should have 3 pieces of work ready to read, should they proceed through the rounds
Poems should not exceed three minutes
Pieces should be the poet's own work
No props*, musical instruments
Poets should perform solo
There will be penalties/disqualification for non-adherence to the rules
Timing begins after the poet gives their name and title of the poem
*Page/book to read poem from is acceptable
