Aspects Festival is proud to be part of the Southbank Centre’s A Poet In Every Port project.
The project is one of the flagship programmes, celebrating the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary and will bring the mobile National Poetry Library to Bangor on 25 and 26 September 2026. This UK‑wide tour takes a travelling selection of the world’s largest public collection of modern poetry to 11 coastal towns, offering free events, workshops and readings. A Poet in Every Port is championed by its ambassador, celebrated poet Roger McGough.
As part of the Bangor visit, local poets Amy Louise Wyatt and Denisa Hasieberova - both selected for the New Poets Collective - will share work inspired by our region’s landscape and stories.
Visitors can also take part in a Word Exchange, a drop‑in creative activity where anyone can come along, swap a word, and write their own poetry.
Join us to explore poetry, creativity and coastal voices as the National Poetry Library drops anchor at Aspects Festival!
