A unique evening in the company of writer Stephen Walker and former MP Lady Hermon who will discuss Stephen’s latest book David Trimble: Peacemaker – the new biography of the Nobel Laureate.

Based on 100 interviews and written with the cooperation of Lord Trimble’s family, it has been described by the Irish Times as ‘a political page turner’.

Bangor educated, David Trimble served as First Minister of Northern Ireland and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998. David Trimble: Peacemaker is a companion piece to John Hume: The Persuader which was Stephen Walker’s best-selling biography of the former SDLP leader published in 2023.

Lady Hermon, the former North Down MP, first met David Trimble when they taught together at Queen’s University in Belfast. They became friends and party colleagues and sat together at Westminster. This promises to be a fascinating evening of political insight.

A rare opportunity to hear first-hand about one of the most important figures in British and Irish history.
