Actor and Musician, Richard Clements will perform a rehearsed reading about his grandfather’s war years titled, How to Bury a Dead Mule.

Richard Clements is an actor/songwriter from Bangor. During the early stages of the pandemic he received Arts Council funding to develop an online audio project with original music, recounting his Grandfather’s war years as a Royal Irish Fusilier on the front line. Richard’s long term aim has been to bring the story to life on stage, exploring in greater detail the PTSD his grandfather suffered from on returning and his difficulties in readjusting to civilian life.

For the Aspects Festival he will be presenting a rehearsed reading of the full stage play, part living history, part poetic reminiscence, an evocative and harrowing journey into a mind forever altered by the horrors of war.

A unique, compelling and deeply affecting account of a chaotic life.
